The Register Layout controls how merch items appear on the POS screen. A well-designed layout helps staff find items quickly, reduces mistakes, and speeds up checkout lines.

Accessing the layout editor

Navigate to POS → Register Layout in the dashboard. You’ll see a visual editor that mirrors what staff see on the POS app.

Designing your layout

1
Add items to the layout
2
Drag merch items from your catalog onto the register grid. Each item appears as a tile that staff tap during checkout.
3
Arrange the grid
4
Position items in a logical order. Common strategies:
5
  • By popularity — Put your best sellers in the most prominent positions
  • By category — Group t-shirts together, accessories together, etc.
  • By price — Arrange from lowest to highest (or vice versa)
  • By location — Match the physical booth layout so items on the left of the table are on the left of the screen
  • 6
    Customize tiles
    7
Each tile can be configured with:
    8
  • Product image — A visual reference for the item
  • Name — The display name on the POS (can be shortened for space)
  • Color — Color-code tiles by category for quick visual scanning
  • 9
    Save the layout
    10
Save your layout and it’s immediately synced to all POS devices on the tour.

    Layout strategies

Put your top sellers in the top-left corner (where the eye naturally goes first) and work outward by popularity. This minimizes the time staff spend scanning the screen for common items.
Arrange items on the POS to match their physical position on the merch table. Staff can look at the table and find the corresponding tile instantly.
Group items by type — all tees in one section, all hats in another, all accessories in a third. Use tile colors to reinforce the groupings.

    Including bundles

Bundles can be added to the register layout just like individual items. Place them prominently if they’re a key part of your sales strategy.
Consider adding a “Bundles” section at the top of the layout with a distinct tile color so staff remember to offer them.

    Updating mid-tour

You can update the register layout at any time. Changes sync to POS devices automatically. Common reasons to update:
    • Item sells out — Remove it to prevent confusion
    • New item added — Add it in a visible position
    • Changing priorities — Move slow sellers to less prominent positions
Layout changes are synced to staff devices in real time. Staff may need to refresh the POS app to see the latest layout.
